History

HPSRx Enterprise's roots go back to 1987 when, as part of a community pharmacy, it began supplying specialty products to local physicians’ offices.  In 1996, then president Robert Patane, opened a mail order pharmacy whose mission was to provide low cost Birth Control Pills to the patients of Women’s Health Clinics across the US.  For several years, this pharmacy, called Home Prescription Services, saved women thousands of dollars in the cost of their BC pills.  Unfortunately, in 1998 the manufacturer of the pills recognized the success of the program and discontinued HPSRx’s contract and started their own program. 

In 1999, with Robert’s commitment to Women’s Health and the small base of wholesale business already established and growing, it became evident that the two needed to be combined with its own identity and space - and thus HPSRx Enterprises, Inc. was formed and acquired its own facility located in Roanoke, Virginia.  For the next 8 years, HPSRx focused on the pharmaceutical and med-surg needs of Women’s Health Clinics and providers. Along the way making new friends and business partners, expanding its product offerings of quality, cost saving items and diligently serving them with excellent service.

In June 2007, HPSRx expanded once again to a larger more modern facility, located in Salem, Virginia. Today it supplies over 200 products to over 1,500 customers nationwide providing the same friendly personal service to each customer as it did 10 years ago. Its customer base has now grown to include hospitals, pharmacies, and other physicians.

Finally, in 2008, HPSRx, with its excess warehouse and distribution capacity and capabilities began participating in special Emergency Preparedness programs. In the event of a State or National disaster, HPSRx is equipped and prepared for the deployment and delivery of an emergency supply of pharmaceuticals anywhere in the US within 24 hours of notification.
